Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
My focus areas include relationships, parenting, and youth mental health. This includes communication skills, boundaries, supporting your child’s mental health, emotion regulation, implementing structure, and youth coping with anxiety, self-esteem, and crisis.

My Approaches
I use practical tools drawing upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Emotion-Coaching (Emotion Focused Family Therapy) to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported in their growth.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, so you can make meaningful changes in your everyday life. In our sessions, we gently explore unhelpful thinking patterns, emotional reactions, and habits that may be keeping you stuck. CBT offers practical tools – like grounding techniques, thought reframing, and coping strategies – that you can start using right away. This can help you build insight, reduce distress, and develop healthier ways of responding to challenges, so you can feel more in control.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focuses on helping you manage intense emotions, improve your relationships, and feel more grounded in difficult moments. In our sessions, we work together to build skills in four key areas: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT offers practical, real-life tools that can help you stay centred during stress, respond to emotions in healthier ways, and communicate your needs more confidently. DBT can support you in creating more stability, balance, and resilience in your day-to-day life.
Emotion-Focused Family Therapy
Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) can help people to navigate complex family dynamics by exploring the emotions and patterns that shape relationships. In sessions, we focus on understanding the underlying feelings behind conflicts, tension, or repeated difficulties, and how these may affect your sense of connection, identity, and well-being. EFFT supports you in identifying unmet needs, expressing emotions safely, and developing strategies to respond to family challenges in a healthier way. Together, we work gently to build insight, strengthen boundaries, and foster more understanding and meaningful connections, so you can feel more empowered and supported in your family relationships.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a compassionate, collaborative approach that helps you make sense of your own desire for change – especially when part of you wants things to be different and another part feels unsure, stuck, or overwhelmed. In our sessions, we explore any blocks or mixed feelings you may have, helping you understand where they come from and what they’re trying to protect. MI invites honest conversations about what matters most to you, while gently challenging patterns that may be holding you back. Together, we identify your strengths, clarify your goals, and build your confidence to move forward.

My Experience
I have experience supporting clients with developmental needs, ADHD, anxiety, depression, addiction, youth crisis, parenting, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, exploitation, domestic abuse, and military veterans.
I currently work for an established clinic supporting military veterans and RCMP members whilst also offering private counselling services both in-person and virtual. Previously, I provided counselling for youth who were experiencing crisis, supporting with suicidal ideation, self-harm, self-esteem, complex family dynamics, substance use, developmental needs, and behavioral challenges.
My experience as a healthcare social worker included supporting adults struggling with mental health, substance use, crisis, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. I also have experience supporting both adults and children with developmental needs. This experience shapes my compassionate, trauma-informed approach to counselling.
How Can I Support You?
My style can support you to identify and process your emotions, address negative thinking styles, and core beliefs which hold you back. Strategies can be explored to find ones which work for you, helping you to manage anxiety, low mood, and poor self-esteem so that you start to feel your most confident, best version of yourself. With a strong relationships focus, I can help you to improve your communication skills, assertiveness, and boundary setting to help you maintain positive relationships where you feel heard, respected, and safe expressing your feelings.
